High School Registration

REGISTRATION DATES (updated as of 12.12.23)

  • Registration appointments for new students for 2024-2025 school year will be held between March 11 and April 12, 2024. 
  • Summer registration will take place between July 8 and July 12, 2024.

 

NEW STUDENTS

Registration occurs in a four-step process completed by the parent or legal guardian of the child: 

  1. Verify your residency in South Pasadena and collect your three proofs of residence. 
  2. Register online via the Aeries Internet Registration system (AIR). Please visit the https://southpasadenausd.aeries.net/enrollment/ to complete the online registration process, and print out two copies of your completed AIR registration.
  3. After you complete the online registration, and you have all the required documents, email Kathryn Pistello ([email protected]) to schedule an appointment for registration. To double-check that you have all the correct materials, please print and read the documents under Forms/Files found in the right-side navigation menu:: HS Registration Required documents, and Enrollment Registration Checklist.
  4. Attend a registration appointment at South Pasadena High School, 1401 Fremont Avenue, South Pasadena, CA 91030. Please bring to your appointment the following original documents:
    • Copy of your AIR registration
    • Birth certificate or passport of student
    • Student immunization records
    • Unofficial transcript (if out of country, a translated English version)
    • CAASPP scores (if available)
    • Special Circumstances (English as a second language, special education, health concerns)
    • Three required proofs of residency. See acceptable proofs of residency in the column at the right. 

If your student is a current 8th grader at South Pasadena Middle School, they will automatically be enrolled at South Pasadena High School for 9th grade for the following school year. The first day of school for the 2024-2025 school year will be Wednesday, August 14, 2024.

NOTES:

  • Guardianships and Dual Family Residencies must be approved in advance by the Human Resources office at the District Office. Please email Katy Nielsen at [email protected].
  • South Pasadena High School closes for the summer and will reopen on August 1st. Families may not receive a response to their appointment request until after August 1st.
 

PREVIOUSLY WITHDRAWN STUDENTS FROM SPUSD

If you are a South Pasadena resident, and your child previously attended a SPUSD school, you do not need to complete the online registration. Email Kathryn Pistello ([email protected]) to schedule an appointment and indicate the last school, grade and year he/she attended in SPUSD. 

Please bring an unofficial transcript from the previous school. Transcripts for 9th grade students must show both 7th and 8th grade. Withdrawal grades are required if transferring during the school year. If entering from another country, an official transcript with a notarized English translation is required. If there are special circumstances (ESL, Special Education, or health problems) please provide appropriate documentation, such as ELPAC test scores or current IEP or 504 plan.

Residency Verification Documents - one document from EACH category, and all documents must be originals, no copies accepted.

Category A

  • Deed of Trust
  • Mortgage Payment Receipt – dated within the past month
  • Rental/Lease Agreement, listing all names of occupants (including children), and the name, address, telephone number and signature of landlord/management company.
  • Property Tax Bill – dated within the past year
  • Closing Escrow Papers

 

Category B

NOTE:  All bills must be both parts, top & bottom, in English, with all pages present, i.e, if a six page gas bill,  please present entire bill. Online bill pay allows for downloadable pdfs of entire gas and electric bills.

  • Utility Bill (Example: Southern California Edison, The Gas Company, Athens Services, Water Bill) – dated within the past month
  • Cable/Internet Provider Bill (Example: Spectrum, Direct TV)  – dated within the past month

 

Category C

NOTE:  All bills must be both parts, top & bottom, in English, with all pages present, i.e, if a six page gas bill,  please present entire bill. Online bill pay allows for downloadable pdfs of entire gas and electric bills.

  • An additional Utility Bill [different than what is provided in CATEGORY B]   (Example: Southern California Edison, The Gas Company, Internet provider, Athens Services, Water bill)   – dated within the past month  
  • Current Car Registration – dated within the past year
  • Car Insurance Statement – dated within the past 6 months to 1 year
  • Health Insurance Statement – dated within the past month
  • Bank Statement (or signed letter on bank letterhead with the South Pasadena address) – dated within the past month
  • Current Federal or State Tax Correspondences - dated within the past 6 months
