On Saturday, April 26, 2025, the South Pasadena Middle School Advanced Drama class participated in the annual DTASC Shakespeare Festival. Held at Santa Monica High School, the festival allowed 17 SPMS students to compete (and place) in the following categories:

LARGE GROUP COMEDY (1st Place) - Roe Heimstadt, Liz Vigasina, Elise Donaldson, Auggie Stuben

LARGE GROUP DRAMA (2nd Place) - August Zahn, Sebastian Dolinar, Coletrane Bartolome, Kryuzen Wong, Caillen Avena

MUSICAL (3rd Place) - Ava Ryan, Georgia Beaghan, Devon Scott, Catherine Chan, Ace Park, Kalysta Salinas-O'Hara

MONOLOGUE (Honorable Mention) - Ethan Rochlin

South Pasadena Middle School placed 4th overall, and the students had a wonderful time. Congratulations to the students and to SPMS Theater Arts teacher Schuyler Mastain.
