SPMS Event Brings High School Athletes and Eighth Graders Together

In the midst of winding down the school year and preparing for promotion and graduation, South Pasadena Middle School (SPMS) eighth graders welcomed a team of South Pasadena High School (SPHS) athletes who answered questions and provided encouragement for the middle schoolers’ years ahead.

Twelve SPHS athletes, who are headed to college to play sports, visited the middle school on Thursday, May 30, 2024 and participated in the school’s first Ask An Athlete panel discussion. Eighth graders submitted their questions ahead of time, and the high school athletes took turns answering questions on subjects like time management, academics, nutrition, and social life. Athletic Director and Coach CB Richards emceed the event, which included some SPHS Tiger merchandise and In-N-Out Burger gift cards for the lively eighth graders.

We’re so proud of our Tigers and Tiger Cubs for helping each other and engaging in such a powerful and positive experience!
