SPMS 8th Grade Math Team Nabs First Place in National Competition

Congratulations to the SPMS 8th Grade Math Team for earning first place in the 2021 SIGMA Math Competition in late March.
 
Students Elisa Argus, Sarah Baek, Trisha Chakraborty, William Chang, Claire Chen, Nadia Cho, Samuel Chung, Gwendolyn Culbert, Peter Dickinson, Austin Hwang, Ethan Kang, Joel Kim, Noah Kim, Ryan Kim, Eden Kim, Ethan Kung, Holly Lacey, Dylan Liu, Sophia Liu, Emilio Lois, Anthony Lou, Veronika Lysikhina, Emett Mendel, Minju Oh, Natasha Rey, Max Slattery, Morgan Sun, Ryan Wong, Brandon Woo, Miles Woo, Christine Xu, Andy Yang, Jack Yang, Alexa Chang, Jesse Li and Dina Zangwill participated in the competition.
 
SIGMA is a mathematics league that promotes problem solving through competition and provides opportunities for students to apply their mathematical knowledge in new and different ways by solving non-routine problems. SPMS Math Teacher Eric Aispuro helped prepare the team for the competition.
