On Saturday, November 2, 2019, South Pasadena Middle School (SPMS) drama students competed in the 2019 Drama Teachers Association of Southern California (DTASC) Fall Festival held at Royal Oak Middle School in Covina, California. SPMS students either placed or received honorable mention in every category they entered. SPMS won third place in the Sweepstakes category for receiving the most overall awards at the festival.
Advanced Drama students placed in the following categories:
1st - for plays written by African American playwrights
Actors: Owen Correll, Keira Grace, Solon McDonald, Quin Sokolowski
2nd - for Small Group Comedy
Actors: Elijah Hall, Liam Monroe, Siara Morgan, Mikala Toshima
4th - for A Woman's Voice (play must deal with any issues regarding women)
Actors: Aubry Deetjen, Jessica Liu, Lilli Mahlawe, Eleni Terhune
Honorable Mention - Male & Female Audition Monologue
Actors: AwenRose Miller & Diego Rodriguez-Moguel
Honorable Mention - Costume Design
