Can you believe that we are already ending our second trimester of school? Teachers have worked so hard to provide meaningful learning opportunities for their students; students have worked so hard at mastering common core standards as well as new technology skills; and of course, families have worked so hard at supporting their children in this new distance/hybrid learning model.
Thursday, March 4th is designated on the district calendar, and written into the contract, as an early dismissal day for teachers to work on 2nd trimester grades. On the morning of Thursday, March 4th, all (hybrid and distance) students will begin the day at 8:30 with their teachers for 50 minutes of synchronous instruction and then transition into asynchronous work for the remainder of the day. (This means that hybrid students will not be on campus on that day.) As March 5th falls on a Friday, we will maintain our regular Friday schedule including an assembly and class meeting.
Parent-Teacher Conferences were originally scheduled for the week of March 15th. By then, all hybrid classes will be in full swing on campus. Due to the AM and PM model, we will not have a week of shortened days to accommodate parent/teacher conferences. Teachers will not be holding conferences for all students, instead conferences will be held for those students who are at risk of not meeting standards. Report cards will be accessible for you to view through the AERIES parent portal on March 15th.
