New Students to the District » Elementary Schools
If you want to register your child for the current school year (2007-2008)
Contact your elementary school. If you do not know your elementary site, call the district office 626-441-5810 x1120 and give your address.
 
If you want to register your child for next school year (2008-2009)
If your child is new to the District (this includes entering kindergarten*), and would like to register your child at any of our elementary schools, you must pick up a new student registration packet.  Use the following dates to determine your registration dates.
 
Please note that at the time of registration, students' packets are stamped with the date and time of registration.  Priority of space at the attendance area school is given to those students who register first. 
  1. April 29 and 30: The first opportunity to register.  You must bring completed registration packets and proofs of residency to your elementary school site. These packets will be available as of April 7 at each elementary site. (If you do not know your elementary site, call the district office 626-441-5810 x1120 and give your address). Registration hours are 9am - 12pm and 1pm - 3pm.
  2. May 1 - June 27: Bring completed registration packets and proofs of residency to your elementary school site.  These packets will be available as of April 7 at each elementary site. (If you do not know your elementary site, call the district office 626-441-5810 x1120 and give your address). 
  3. July 1 - First week of school (usually the first week of September): Since the elementary schools are closed in the summer, registration for new students takes place at the district office (Room 4).  Specific dates for registration will be posted by mid June. The District Office is located at 1020 El Centro St., South Pasadena.
Additionally, every parent is expected to attend "Round Up" which takes place mid-August at your school site.  At Round Up you will be expected to provide current proofs of residency and a completed District Acknowledgement Form (which can be downloaded here beginning August 1).
 
You may not register for school until you reside in South Pasadena and have your appropriate three proofs of residence, and registration must be done by the parent or legal guardian of the child.
 
*Students must be 5 years old by December 2, 2008.  No Exceptions

Residency Verification Documents
You need one document from EACH category
 
Category A
Deed of Trust
Mortgage Payment Receipt – dated within the past month
Rental/Lease Agreement, listing all names of occupants (including children), and the name, address, telephone number and signature of landlord/management company.
Property Tax Bill – dated within the past year
Closing Escrow Papers
 
Category B
Utility Bill (Example: Southern California Edison, The Gas Company, Water Bill) – dated within the past month
Time Warner Cable Bill – dated within the past month
Telephone/Cell Phone Bill – dated within the past month
 
Category C
Current Car Registration – dated within the past year
Car Insurance Statement – dated within the past 6 months to 1 year
Health Insurance Statement – dated within the past month
Bank Statement (or signed letter on bank letterhead with the South Pasadena address) – dated within the past month
Pay Stub showing current South Pasadena address – dated within the past month
Current Federal or State Tax Forms – dated within the past year
